My son plays Fullback and Linebacker. He goes all out and I was very concerned with safety and we had 1 full season of no injuries with these pads. He really likes them because they are light weight and has full arm range motion. They are not bulkly like other pads and we didn't have any neck pinching problems with these pads. Also, the outside pad lays flat to protect the shoulder (roto cuff) area. This is a big plus, because other pads stick out and don't protect. Highly Recommend.

I bought these pads for my son last football season. He's about to turn 13 now, playing in the local league as a defensive end / linebacker for the past 4 years. He absolutely loves these football pads! He tells me that they're comfortable, lightweight, and they allow him to move his arms around better. I was skeptical of purchasing them at first, but am glad I took a chance on these pads. They are a little goofy looking under his practice jersey because of the "x" design in front and people can tell he's wearing a different style of shoulder pad, but it's a small price to pay. Putting them on is so much easier and he can't stop raving about the comfort level, even during contact drills. He went back to his old pads for one practice last season and couldn't stand them anymore after using the X pads. His only complaint is that he doesn't get the same pop sound he's used to after hitting someone. The crash of the pads are not quite the same.

My son really liked everything about these pads until he raised his arms. The padding around the neck is very very constricting when this is done.

So far so good, the kids seem to like them, I like that they fit EVERY kid snugly and the built in collar bone protection is a real nice feature for kids. I would like to see a little more protection by the armpits. But, much nicer than the older types.

I play wide receiver and safety and these pads allow great mobility and I hardly feel the hits the way I did in my other pads!
