SCREEN PRINTING
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Also
known as serigraphy, screen printing is accomplished in four major
steps. First and foremost, a quality design is needed for artwork.
This is sized or created to customer specifications. Second, a
frame with the negative design is made. Third, the soft good receiving
the print is laid out and printed upon. Finally the soft good is
passed through a dryer to cure the design on the product.
A DETAILED LOOK
First,
artwork is accepted from the customer or created to specifications,
then set up for production. Print-outs are provided to the customer
and used to proof color and style before production begins.
Once
the design is final, frames are made up with a negative of the
design.
A
durable frame is used to accommodate the size of the artwork,
then coated with a light-sensitive emulsion. Then a positive transparent
stencil? made to size? is secured onto the frame and exposed to
light, hardening the coating not covered by the design. The frames
are then rinsed out to remove the soft emulsion of the design,
leaving a negative to use for printing.
The
print is then made by forcing a curing ink through the frames
of silk screen onto the soft good with a squeegee.
The
print is cured by a dryer, and the product is ready for use. (No
fabric softeners, or dryer sheets please.)
EMBROIDERY
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Team
Express Custom embroidery is also created in four steps. First
and foremost, a quality design is needed for best results. Second,
the design is colored, digitized, and readied for production by
experienced staff at Team Express. Third, a sample is created to
proof color and style before production begins. Fourth, the items
are staged and production begins.
A DETAILED LOOK
First,
experienced Team Express staff obtain or create the high quality
artwork for the production design, specifying the correct sizing
and colors. After job jackets are produced, the design is readied
for the production machines.
Second,
the design is coded for the embroidery machines and uploaded for
a sample, reviewed and approved before production begins.
Third,
items are staged for production and readied to accept the design.
Assurances are made before this point for the amount of product
needed to facilitate production.
Fourth
and finally, the design begins its life as a uniform insignia,
or player identification.
